Georgia State Parks and the Department of Natural Resources are on a campaign to promote Georgia State Parks, and encourage getting outdoors and getting fit,

Our State Parks would like our smaller County Parks involved in this promotion too, so their fun loving gopher has come to explore Walton County, and to challenge everyone to head out to your local parks.

  how to Become An "Explorer"! 

Download a copy of the Parks Guide and Passport, or pick one up at any of our three major park locations:

  • Visit the great places Walton County Parks & Recreation has to offer
  • Check off the things you find or do at each place
  • Go to a Community Recreation Center to get your passport stamped on the park you visited
  • When you visit enough parks (according to your age group) take your passport to any Recreation Center for a "Walton County Parks Explorer" Tee Shirt, and most important of all..... "Braggin Rights"!
 

Age 4-6 visit 3 parks

Age 7-10 visit 6 parks

Age 11-Up visit 8 parks
