14.5 Acre Neighborhood Park
Hammond Park has been leased to Walton County by the City of Monroe for 50 years. This park is a passive park and has tennis courts, Ball fields that are used for the W.A.S.P. Program (Adapted Baseball, concession stand, picnic areas, play equipment and play area.
One of Walton's largest community festivals is the Crepe Myrtle Festival. Held each June and directed by the Crepe Myrtle Festival Committee, it is an event with something for the entire family. Exhibits range fromn antique cars to robots, and include a variety of foods, unique arts and crafts, amusement park rides, music, and a tractor parade. More than 200 vendors from around theSoutheast display crafts, merchandise, and food for visitor's enjoyment, whether browsing or buying.
